Enduro Bearings pioneered MAX type bearings over 20 years ago for bicycles to address the challenges associated with mountain bike pivots. MAX-type bearings provide 35-40% more load capacity than standard radial bearings by utilizing a special design where the maximum number of balls are inserted into the bearing, via a custom ground slot in the races. The additional balls, combined with deep race grooves in these bearings provide greater lateral support for the twisting and multi-directional forces associated with mountain bike pivots. This ABEC-3 bearing features deep-groove design races, with Grade 10 balls and full-contact, double-lip, labyrinth (LLU) seals for maximum protection against the elements, while keeping the 90% fill of Almagard extra high pressure grease inside. The flanged design ensures precise insertion into through-holes in swing-arms and suspension linkages while the extended inner race eliminates the need for extra spacers to connect suspension linkages.

This bearing has been used as a suspension pivot bearing by Yeti bikes.

Please note that the extended race for the EB version of this bearing is on the same side as the flange, and should not be confused with the EA version where the extended race is on the opposite side as the flange.
