Enduro Bearings pioneered MAX type bearings almost 20 years ago for bicycles to address the challenges associated with mountain bike pivots. MAX-type bearings provide 35-40% more load capacity than standard radial bearings by utilizing a special design where the maximum number of balls are inserted into the bearing, via a custom ground slot in the races. The additional balls, combined with deep race grooves in these bearings provide greater lateral support for the twisting and multi-directional forces associated with mountain bike pivots. This ABEC-3 bearing features deep-groove design races, with grade 10 balls and 90% fill of Almagard extra high pressure grease. When properly installed (black seal facing in) and adjusted, Enduro Angular Contact (A/C) bearings engage all of the bearing's balls to spread the force over a larger surface area, decreasing friction, minimizing wear and increasing bearing life.

The single seal specification is designed for use with grease injection systems like those found in linkages on older Intense VPP Bikes.

The Enduro line of bearings are available in high-carbon chromium steel, 440C stainless steel, ceramic-hybrid and XD-15 with ceramic or stainless balls. Our bearings are always engineered with deepest groove races possible to accommodate the largest balls possible and feature dual-lip seals that ride in a micro-groove creating a full labyrinth to provide superior protection against the elements.
